The Adventure Begins in LOCKEPORT!
Lockeport is a picturesque coastal town located in the southwestern part of Nova Scotia, It is situated in Shelburne County, along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Lockeport is known for its stunning natural beauty, historic charm, and a strong connection to the sea.
A Little History
Lockeport was founded in 1762 by families from Massachusetts seeking access to the rich fishing grounds of the Grand Banks. Often called the "Gem of the South Shore," this delightful town is linked to the mainland by the renowned Crescent Beach. Its early success stemmed from a flourishing cod fishery and trade with the West Indies.

Serving fresh salads, sandwiches and chowders, the White Gull Restaurant and Marina is the place to stop for local flavours!
A Licensed Family Eatery & Marina, The White Gull is located on the Waterfront with harbour views from the spacious sun deck. Enjoy local Seafood Specialties and maybe even wash it down with an ice-cold draft beer.

Enjoying the blog and the exposure to these lovely areas. I would add though the beautiful nearby beach near a Little Harbour- Louis Head Beach- beautiful white sands. And if there has been a storm- Sturdier Footwear and one of Suttles and Seawinds rain jackets necessary- huge surf over the rocks at West Head. Now a NS nature preserve property- winding trails by massive rocks leading to the end of the point…
